Managing Director
Darren started the company in 2007 and since then has built a successful business with a growing staff base and extensive product range.
What is your favourite hobby?
“My favourite hobbies are the gym, playing golf and watching football.”
What do you love about your job?
“I really enjoy working with multi-national companies and watching our customer base grow.”
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
“I was a national karate champion twice at the age of 13 and 14 and I can fold my left ear over and make it pop out again.”
Adi Waters
Technical and Warranty Coordinator
Adi became a member of the Vortex family in 2023 as a purchasing assistant but has quickly progressed to be our purchasing and warranty coordinator.
What is your favourite hobby?
“I have two main hobbies; drawing
and mixing music.”
What do you love about your job?
“I love the diverse daily challenges that I face within my role, as well as the team I work with.”
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
“I commission a range of bespoke artwork for friends and clients.”
Alastair Russell

Alley joined our team in January 2024 as our E-Commerce Executive.
What is your favourite hobby?
“While I have many hobbies (including airsoft, Dungeons and Dragons, playing bass and guitar and gaming), my current favourite is Warhammer 40,000.”

“I love that I get to work on many different things every day, it really keeps me going.”

"In the space of 5 months I had my first child, passed my driving test and got married."
Amanda De Bathe
Financial Accountant
Amanda brings her financial expertise and dedication to our team.
What is your favourite hobby?
“I have two; going out for long rides on my bikes (road, gravel and off-road), and dance. I attend Swing/Jive groups every week.”
What do you love about your job?
“I love the 'work family' environment I get from working here. My job is interesting and varied and there are always opportunities to grow and develop. And recognition is always given for hard work and commitment.”

“I was born in Singapore.”
Armando Jordan
Business Development Manager
Armando is one of our longest serving team members, having started working with us in 2015.
What is your favourite hobby?
“Skiing is my favourite hobby, and I have actually taught a number of my colleagues how to ski too.”
What do you love about your job?
“My role is a challenge, but that is one of the things I love most about it. I also enjoy getting to meet and work with so many people across the UK and Europe.”

“I cook the best paella on earth!”

“I studied musical theatre productions at university, but instead of making it my full-time job, I do it as a hobby.”

“My favourite part of my role is creating relationships with our customers and helping resolve their queries.”
